Export Exchange Contacts to iCloud in 3 Simple Steps

Step 1. Export Contacts from Exchange Server
Step 2. Make Exchange Contacts iCloud Compatible
Step 3. Import All Exchange Contacts to iCloud

Step 1. Export Contacts from Exchange Server

All your Exchange Contacts are automatically synced with your Outlook Contact list if the Outlook account is properly configured with Exchange Server. Therefore, we can directly export Exchange Contacts from MS Outlook and below is how this could be done:

  • Launch MS Outlook and click on File >> Open&Export >> Import/Export
  • Select Export to a file option from Import and Export Wizard and click Next
  • Choose Comma Separated Values button and click Next
  • Highlight Contacts folder and click Next to move your Exchange Contacts to iCloud
  • Browse a destination location to save the exported contacts CSV and click Next >> Finish

Step 2. Make Exchange Contacts iCloud Compatible

iCloud does not allow to import CSV contact file so we will make the exported Exchange Contacts CSV file iCloud compatible via converting it into vCard v3.0 or v4.0 file format. Follow the steps below to do the same:

  • Download Excel to iCloud Converter on your Windows machine and install it
Mac machine users can download CSV to VCF FreeConverter for Mac to convert Exchange Contacts CSV into vCard v3.0 or v4.0 on the Mac machine.
  • Run the software and click on the Browse button and add the contact CSV you have exported above
  • Preview Exchange Contacts CSV and check if all the contact information and fields are correct. If so, click Next (if not, open CSV in MS Excel application and format it correctly)
  • Select the CSV contact field from the Excel Fields section and map it with cosponsoring vCard Field. Repeat the same step until you map all the Exchange Contact fields with vCard Fields. Once done, click Next to export Exchange Contacts to iCloud
  • Select vCard v3.0 or v4.0, check Create Single vCard and Import empty email addresses options. Select a destination location to save the resultant vCard file and hit the Next button

All the Exchange Contacts will get converted into vCard (.vcf) file format right after this

Step 3. Import All Exchange Contacts to iCloud

  • Open your web browser and go to https://www.icloud.com/. Log in with your credentials
  • Choose Contacts from the next window
  • Hit the Settings gear-icon and choose Import vCard option
  • Navigate and add the vCard file you have converted in Step 2 to copy all contacts from Exchange to iCloud

After this, all your Exchange Contacts will get imported and automatically synced with iCloud Contacts. You can access and connect these contacts with all the devices synced with your iCloud account. Don t upgrade to catalina.

I have five different excel files on the dock (they appear below the line, along with the trash icon). When I click on them a question mark appears on top of the excel symbol, and 'help' says this means they have been deleted. 150x150 picture editor. None of them were saved anywhere but on the dock. But I have not opened three of them for weeks, and cannot find any of them with 'finder'. OS X :: Can't Open Excel Files From IDisk?

Jun 13, 2009

My MBP blew up so am on a temporary Blackbook and luckily all my important day to day docs are on my iDisk, no problem I thought.. But something really odd is happening, when I try to open a spreadsheet with Excel (tried 04 and 08) it says 'the file may be read only or you may be trying to access a read only location or the server the document on may not be responding'.
I can open the file with open office and ALL other file types open fine from iDisk (including Word and PPT).
At the moment I am having to drag the files to my desktop edit them and drag them back to iDisk so all is up to date when I get my computer back.
Has anyone had anything similar? Any tips gratefully received (apart from the obvious; ditch MS Office!).
After first noticing the problem I set iDisk to keep a local copy on the temp machine but this made no difference.
